Xiaomi has just launched Redmi Y2, the latest selfie-centric smartphone in India. It is the same the device which was unveiled last month in China as Redmi S2. Anyway, let’s check out the specifications of Xiaomi’s new Selfie focused Redmi Y2 smartphone below.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 sports a 5.99-inch (1440 × 720 pixels) HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and has 2.5D curved glass on its top. Under the hood, the device has a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 Octa-Core processor along with Adreno 506 GPU.
Redmi Y2 comes in two storage variants; 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. It is a dual sim smartphone which supports all required connectivities like 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS + GLONASS.
Coming to the camera section, the phone has a 12MP primary rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture. It also features a 5MP secondary rear camera to capture depth information for AI portrait shots.
There is a 16MP front camera with soft LED flash which comes with face unlock feature, AI beauty feature and Auto HDR. Besides this, it uses the pixel binning technology, combining the information from four pixels to create one large 2.0µm pixel.
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and has MIUI 9 on its top which is upgradable to MIUI 10. The handset has a 3000mAh battery under the hood to keep the lights on. Like other Xiaomi devices, Redmi Y2 also has a fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the phone.
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Pricing and Availability:
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 will be available in Rose Gold, Elegant Gold and Dark Grey colors. The phone with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will cost Rs. 9,999 and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version will cost Rs. 12,999. The device will be exclusively available starting from June 12th from Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores as well.
