Xiaomi has announced its latest Selfie centric smartphone dubbed as Redmi S2 in China. The phone arrives in two storage variants; 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. However, let’s check out what all the other specifications that it has with it.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 Specifications:
Xiaomi Redmi S2 boasts a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and has a 2.5D curved glass on its top. Inside the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 625 clocked at 2GHz and has Adreno 506 GPU.
As said earlier, the handset comes in two storage variants; 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. However, it can be expandable up to 256GB via inserting microSD card. Redmi S2 is a Dual SIM smartphone with dedicated SIM and SD card slots. The handset supports all standard connectivities like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS + GLONASS.
For photography, it has a primary 12MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, and f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, there is a 5MP secondary rear camera for capturing the depth information of the AI portrait shots. Whereas on the front, the phone has a 16MP selfie camera with soft LED flash which supports AI beauty feature and uses Pixel binning technology in capturing beautiful selfies.
Besides that, the front camera also supports face recognition feature which unlocks the device quickly by detecting the face. Like any other Xiaomi device, this one also comes with an infrared sensor and a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back. Redmi S2 runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9 on top and packs a 3080mAh battery to keep the lights on.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 Pricing and Availability:
Xiaomi Redmi S2 will be available in three colors: Rose gold, Champagne Gold, and Platinum Silver colors. The device costs 999 yuan ($156) for the 3GB RAM+ 32GB storage variant. Whereas, the 4GB RAM+ 64GB storage variant of the device will cost 1299 yuan ($204).
