As expected, Xiaomi has officially launched their latest budget smartphone Redmi 5A in India. The smartphone is being marketed as “Desh ka Smartphone”. So let’s check out the specs of this device.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi 5A sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by Snapdragon 425 SoC with Adreno 308 GPU. The device comes in two variants: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. The memory can be expanded up to 128GB with microSD. Out of the box, the handset runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on the top.
In the camera segment, Redmi 5A sports a 13MP snapper with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF. The rear camera is capable of recording videos up to 1080p. On the front, it has a 5MP camera which comes with f/2.0 aperture.
The device has dedicated Dual SIM support with 4G VoLTE connectivity. It doesn’t feature Fingerprint sensor but it comes with the Infrared sensor which can be used to control wireless devices. Under the hood, it has a 3000mAh battery which provides the power.
Redmi 5A Pricing
Redmi 5A 2GB RAM variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 4999 for the first five million units variant. After that, it will be available to buy at Rs. 5999. The 3GB variant costs Rs. 6999. Both the devices will be up for sale exclusively from Flipkart. It will be also available from Mi.com and Mi Home stores.
