Vivo has finally introduced its flagship NEX series smartphones in China. At MWC 2018, Vivo showcased its APEX concept phone equipped with a pop-up front camera. And now, the Chinese company has successfully commercialized the concept in its new flagship device, Vivo NEX S and NEX A. Vivo NEX S Specifications:
Vivo NEX S comes with a 6.59-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9 at a resolution of 2316 × 1080 pixels. The phone has a 91.24% screen-to-body ratio and 1.71mm ultra narrow bezels on the sides and 2.16mm on the top as well.
The phone is powered by 2.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with Adreno 630 GPU for handling the graphics. Vivo NEX S comes with whopping 8GB of RAM 128GB/256GB onboard storage options. It’s a Dual SIM smartphone which supports connectivities such as Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C.
Vivo NEX S sports a 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup with a dual-tone LED flash. The 12MP primary rear camera arrives with a Sony IMX363 sensor, 4-axis OIS, and f/1.8 aperture. Meanwhile, the 5MP secondary rear camera comes with f/2.4 aperture and auto scene detection for capturing portrait shots.
The phone features an 8MP pop-up selfie camera on the front which automatically rises and hides when you enter and exit the camera app. The highly accurate micro-stepping motors, independent drive ICs and precision control algorithms precisely manage the pop-up and down process.
The phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor similarly like the one present in Vivo X21 which is recently unveiled in India. The handset doesn’t sport an earpiece instead it vibrates the screen using the SoundCasting Technology. The Chinese company says the SoundCasting Technology will provide better bass and softer tremble.
Vivo NEX S runs on FunTouch OS 4.0 based on Android Oreo 8.1 and packs a 4000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging as well. Besides that, the phone comes with an AI-powered Energy UI and Jovi voice assistant with a dedicated button to launch it. The Jovi voice assistant can identify the image, can launch apps and will obey your many voice commands as well.
Vivo NEX S Pricing and Availability
Vivo NEX S comes with a price tag of 4498 yuan ($702) for the 128GB storage. Whereas, the larger 256GB storage version costs 4998 yuan ($780). The device will come in Diamond Black and Red colors. The phone will be available in China starting from June 23rd.
