Right now, the popular music recognition app Shazam has alleged today that it has tied in with Snapchat. And from now it’ll display the title of the song playing nearby when a Snapchat user presses on the Snapchat camera screen. Since the Shazam integrated with Snapchat, the users can now access all the Shazam content and send information about songs and artists to their family and friends as snaps.
The Shazam, music recognition app has been for a while and was also present in one of the first App Store ads made by Apple back in 2008. (You can watch that ad video above). It’s worth to mention that the Shazam app has more than one billion downloads and millions of active users using it. Most interesting thing to note is the app itself used 20 million times a day.
“We are happy to launch our partnership with Snapchat. We’ve integrated Shazam into Snapchat in a way that makes discovering and sharing music both fun and easier than ever.”-Rich Riley, CEO, Shazam.
This new integration of Shazam will surely help Snapchat to continue its reign and make it unique among others. On the other side, Facebook is striving hard to attract the users by implementing similar features of it in Instagram.
