SHARP has announced AQUOS R2, the successor of its previous year’s flagship smartphone AQUOS R in Japan. Let’s check out the specifications of this device.

The latest flagship smartphone from SHARP sports a 6-inch round-notched enabled Quad HD+ IGZO LCD. The display has 19:9 aspect ratio with 2.5D curved glass on its top, 100 Hz refresh rate. The handset has a Snapdragon 845 Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.8GHz along with Adreno 630 GPU.

Under the hood, there is a 4GB RAM and inbuilt storage of 64GB which is expandable up to 400GB via microSD. SHARP AQUOS R2 is a water and dust resistant device with IPX 5 – IPX8 / IP6X ratings like its predecessor. The latest SHARP flagship smartphone runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) and packs a 3130mAh battery which supports fast charging.

The device features a dual rear camera setup in which a 22.6 MP primary rear camera for taking stills and a 16.3 MP secondary camera with 135-degree ultra wide-angle lens for recording videos in 4K 2K resolution. While on the front there is a 16.3MP Selfie camera placed on the notch.

The handset has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the home button on the front chin of the device. Besides that, it also has Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision which will give an enhanced multimedia experience. The device arrives in Premium Black, Platinum White, Aquamarine, Coral Pink and Rose Red colors and will be available later this Summer.

However, there isn’t any information on the pricing of AQUOS R2. Moreover, it’s also not known that whether the Japanese firm will unleash it on other regions than Japan or not.
