Samsung India is getting the Android December security update for its Galaxy Note 5 handhelds. The latest update, as of now, is available for Note 5 users in India and is packed with the firmware version N920GDDU2AOL1. It weighs about 72MB in size.
Users can keep a tab on the update by tapping on the ‘Software Update’ option in the Settings menu.
Samsung talked about its recent move in its official blog, where it said,
“Samsung Mobile is releasing a maintenance release for major flagship models as part of monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process. This SMR package includes patches from Google and Samsung.”
Stagefright, a serious, big-scale Android vulnerability, had put the security of a lot of devices at stake. That’s when Google and Samsung jumped to control the damage and announced security patches for their devices, once a month.
