Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G smartphone, which is set to hit the market in China on March 28. The smartphone will be the first to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor, which is expected to provide top-tier performance, making it an ideal device for gamers. It is also slated to be launched under the Poco F5 branding globally, with India being one of the countries where it will be released on April 5.
One of the most exciting features of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G is the 12-bit flexible OLED panel, which supports 68.7 billion colors and 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut. The display will also feature 1920Hz PWM dimming and SGS Low Blue Light, and it has been HDR10+ certified, providing a truly immersive visual experience. The company also confirms the device will feature 1TB inbuilt storage with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.
The smartphone boasts an impressive 93.45% screen-to-body ratio, with a thickness of 1.95mm on top and 1.42mm on the sides. The chin of the phone has a thickness of 2.22mm, which is slimmer than the iPhone 14. It is also incredibly lightweight, weighing just 181 grams, and has an overall thickness of 7.9mm.
Xiaomi has also equipped the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, ensuring smooth and seamless performance. The smartphone features a 3725mm vapor chamber cooling system, which increases the heat dissipation capacity by 35%, making it ideal for prolonged gaming sessions.
The Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G also comes with a 64MP primary camera, which is rumored to have OIS support. While the details of the other cameras are yet to be confirmed, the smartphone is expected to deliver exceptional picture quality. The fingerprint sensor is rumored to be integrated into the power button.
The smartphone will run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, making it the first Redmi Note 12 smartphone to run on Android 13 out of the box. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G will also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, stereo speaker setup, USB type-C port, and a metal frame.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G will be equipped with a large 5000 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging technology. The company claims that the device has a software failure rate of only 0.005% and has passed over 300 test scenarios and 250,000 hours of ultra-long stress testing.
