An investor focused presentation by Nokia in the Capital Markets Day event conveys that we are going to see a handful of Nokia devices in the upcoming year. More or less, it is the official confirmation from the Finish Company that they are ready to return to the competitive Smartphone market.
However, Nokia is not going to produce any of the upcoming devices. It will just act as the owner of the brand and patents. HMD will be manufacturing the devices along with Foxconn’s R&D and other manufacturing prowess.
As per reports, HMD has a 10-year agreement of using “Nokia” title in handsets. The company is expected to pour at least €500 million in the marketing department within 3 years.
Nokia’s first handset is expected to come within the second quarter of 2017 that means MWC event in February is still a possibility.
