Nokia has started a new chapter in its long journey as a smartphone maker. The HMD backed brand has now brought its new Android smartphones to the second largest smartphone market in the world, India. Nokia is offering a trio of smartphones. Here are the details.
Nokia 6
This aluminum metal body phone is the most premium offering of Nokia right now. It has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by the Snapdragon 430 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and has 32GB of storage expandable up to 256GB. The camera at the back is a 16MP sensor with f2.0 aperture and the front has an 8MP sensor with autofocus. It has a 3,000 mAh battery and comes with Android Nougat pre-installed. The fingerprint-toting Nokia 6 will be sold on Amazon India at a price of Rs. 14,999 ($233). You can register for flash sales on July 14. Nokia 5
The Nokia 5 falls between the two other phones launched today. Specs are pretty much the same except for some changes. It sports a 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, Snapdragon 430, 2GB RAM, and 16GB expandable storage. The camera department sees the 13MP sensor for the front and 8MP sensor for the back. The rear camera has f2.0 aperture with PDAF. Like its bigger sibling, It has a 3,000 mAh battery, Android 7.1.1 Nougat and also has a fingerprint sensor. The Nokia is priced at INR 12,899 ($200). Prebooking starts on July 7. It will be sold offline.
Nokia 3
It is the smallest of the bunch. The device has an aluminum frame with a polycarbonate back. The device holds a 5.0-inch 720p IPS LCD display with 2.D Corning Gorilla Glass. Powering the device is a MediaTek MT6737 processor. 2GB of storage is on board along with 16GB of storage. The camera of the Nokia 3 offers an 8MP sensor with f2.0 aperture at the back as well as the front. The battery is pegged at an unimpressive 2,630 mAh. Also, the Nokia 3 does not have a fingerprint sensor. All three models come with Android Nougat which is a good thing. The Nokia 3 is priced at priced at INR 9499 ($147), will be available offline starting June 16.
