New update for Gboard adds new languages support, text editing tool and adjusting keyboard position

Right now, Google has rolled out a new update to its Gboard app for Android which brings various changes and improvements as well. The latest update of Gboard adds the transliteration support for these 22 new Indian languages – Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi. Additionally, the update also adds support for Kinyarwanda and Waray as well.

The update also comes with a new text editing mode which has buttons allowing the user to control the cursor easily. Moreover, it also allows you to select text, cut, copy, and paste directly from your keyboard. You can easily access this mode by selecting the Text Editing icon from the quick features menu by tapping on the G button in the suggestion tab.

After upgrading the app to the latest version, you’ll be able to change the keyboard position and can resize it as well. To do that, you should click on “more” in the quick features menu. And then, click on the one-handed mode button from where you’ll be able to adjust the position and the size of the keyboard.
