There were rumors that Xiaomi Mi 5s is going to feature Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner made by Qualcomm. This is a new gen fingerprint technology which works perfectly and doesn’t have limitations like previous gens sensors. Previous gen sensors can’t recognize the fingerprint if your hand is wet or sweaty. But the new Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner can recognize wet hands even work under a variety of materials like metal and glass. This helps the manufacturers to skip the Home button easily and the sensor can be placed under the display or anywhere else.
Xiaomi Mi 5s is going to be the first smartphone in the world to feature this technology. Today Wang Yang, the Director of IHS Technology has posted on Weibo confirming that the Xiaomi Mi 5s is going to feature Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner under the display.
