It looks like Microsoft is trying to add some new features to its Personal Assistant, Cortana for Android. According to a report, Microsoft is testing the dexterity to fetch Cortana on the home screen of Android devices. The users enrolled in the beta testing are getting a pop-up inside Cortana, which asks that they want Cortana to appear on the lock screen or not. If answered positively it’ll result in showing up a Cortana icon on the lock screen.
However, on swiping that icon, the Cortana panel opens and displays you updates plus lets you interact with the assistant. Allegedly this feature is meant to work despite the fact which third party lock screen you use. It’s important to mention that Cortana icon on the lock screen works even without unlocking the device. It may be thumping down for many users since anyone who gains physical access to your device can access your data on Cortana as well. However, the Cortana for Android is still in beta testing. We expect it’ll come out with a solution for this when the stable version of Cortana gets released in future.
