Since G5 release LG’s Smartphone business took a heavy hit. As of now, the South Korean company is planning to make some changes in its next year’s marketing strategy. According to Korean media reports, LG might unveil its upcoming high-end flagship, G6, one month prior than was expected.
LG launched G5 at MWC event in February 2016 and it was available for sale from April. Similarly, it is expected that G6 will be launched at the same event and marketed at the same time in 2017. New reports convey that LG G6 will be released at the 2017 MWC event but it will be available for sale from March. If these reports come true then LG G6 won’t have to compete against Samsung Galaxy S8 whose release got delayed until April.
Speaking of the marketing strategy changes, LG will drop the semi-modular design of G5 and will focus more on popular Android services and features such as a waterproof design, wireless charging technology, and mobile payment service.
