Since last June, there were constant rumors that Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphones will feature Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. As per a confidential report, Xiaomi Mi 5S will attribute Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in its list of features. Mi 5s appeared on AnTuTu which confirms that the smartphone is real and coming with Snapdragon 821 chipset inside it.
According to the report, in this fingerprint scanner, Qualcomm has integrated a new technology dubbed as Snapdragon Sense ID. This fingerprint scanner is totally a next generation technology which relies on ultrasonic 3D scanning. Further, the scanner is claimed to work through the various surface like metal, plastic, and glass.
This fingerprint technology will be the one of its own kind! Manufacturers have to embed sensor inside panels and frames if they want to incorporate this technology. Just imagine your handset to be under a glass panel and all you have to do to open the screen lock is blow your fingers over the display.
