The latest beta version of Android 7.1.2 has been out there for just a short while, and so far very fewer differences in terms of features have become visible.
One of the feature changes that can be called an improvement is related to live wallpapers on your Android device. We all thought that live wallpapers on Android would be slowly killed off, as there have been no noticeable updates for the feature on the last update of Android.
One major issue with setting live wallpapers on Android devices was that, unlike static wallpapers, once a live wallpaper was applied, it automatically appeared on both home screen as well as the lock screen. However, with the latest Android 7.1.2 release, we are seeing options for setting live wallpapers on either the home screen or the lock screen of your Android device, which is a welcome feature.
During our experience, we found that this feature was applicable for the default live wallpapers that came with the Google Pixel devices, as the beta release is now available for Google Pixel devices only. If you wish to have the live wallpapers found in Google Pixel devices on your non-pixel Android device, then you can download and install Google’s standalone application (click here) featuring the same from the Play Store.
