The Reliance Jio became the fastest growing company in the world after it garnered over 100 million active subscribers in India within just 170 days of initial launch.
As to keep the numbers growing, we now have Reliance Jio partnering with Samsung Electronics for a project called the “I&G Project” (Infill and Growth) to improve network capacity and coverage across India by upgrading the LTE services that are available currently.
Reliance Jio and Samsung will make use of the 850, 1800 and the 2300MHz spectrums that are available in order to achieve this. All the necessary equipment and base stations will be provided by Samsung to help Reliance Jio expand their VoLTE based services.
Samsung Electronics has vowed that in partnership with Reliance Jio, they will move ahead to create a new paradigm in India for the current LTE and upcoming 5G technology as well.
As the internet has become more of a necessity than a luxury, it is high time that network providers started focusing on rural areas for better connectivity.
