Skipping the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus, Apple has now announced the Apple iPhone 8 and Apple iPhone 8 Plus.
Both the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus features a very similar look to its predecessors, the same look that has been sticking on since the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
However, the main difference in terms of design is in its built materials. Instead of an all-aluminum built, the iPhone and iPhone 8 Plus features a glass back, so as to add the support for Wireless Charging.
Talking about Wireless Charging, the Apple iPhone 8, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus supports Qi-wireless charging and Apple is making a charging pad that not only supports the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus but also the latest Apple Watch Series 3 and the latest Apple AirPods as well.
Both the iPhone 8 models feature the “True-Tone technology” that we had seen in the Apple iPad Pro 10.5-inch. The technology allows the display to adapt the screen brightness and colors depending on the ambient lighting in the surrounding to offer more color accuracy in the display.
Talking about the internals of the Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, both these devices are now powered by the all-new Apple A11 Bionic chipset which is a hexacore chipset with two dedicated cores for performance. The A11 Bionic is 25% faster in performance, 30% faster in GPU processing and consumes half the power than the A10 Fusion.
The iPhone 8 features a new 12MP rear camera sensor that is larger and faster and features Optical Image Stabilization as well.
The dual rear camera sensors on the Apple iPhone 8 Plus now feature f/1.8 and f/2.8 apertures. There is also a “Portrait Lighting” mode newly built for the iPhone 8 Plus that allows users to adjust the lighting conditions for portrait photos.
Both the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is capable of capturing 4K resolution videos at 60 frames per second and is claimed to be the highest quality video capture ever in a Smartphone. The devices can also shoot slow motion videos of 1080p Full-HD resolution at 240 frames per second, compared to the 120 frames per second slo-mo videos captured by the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus also features a new accelerometer and gyroscope aimed for better tracking of motion along with AR calibration for the camera sensors, making the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus the first Smartphone designed for AR.
The 64GB variant of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is priced at $699 and $799 respectively. The 256GB variants of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus cost $849 and $949 respectively.
Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available for pre-orders from 15th of September and shipping will begin from 22nd of September.
