After Facebook, now Instagram is going to monetize by allowing companies to advertise their products. Instagram, the social network where most of youth’s stay active, is now testing their product-tagging feature to allow companies advertise and sell the products directly from their social network itself. This will be achieved by tags which will allow companies to tag their product within the images, just like tagging a user works.
Later, the users will be able to tap on the tags, which will let the users purchase something within the Instagram itself, without opening additional browser windows. The product placement won’t be awful, instead, the tags are given the ability to be hidden by default and revealed by choice.
As reported by Instagram,The launch test partners of the shoppable tags are Abercombie & Fitch, BaubleBar, Coach, Hollister, JackThreads, J.Crew, Kate Spade New York, Levi’s, Lulu’s, Macy’s, Michael Kors, MVMT Watches, Tory Burch, Warby Parker, and Shopbop.
