It is already clear that HTC is trying to brand the “U” series of HTC devices as their premium handset offerings with devices like the HTC U Ultra and the HTC U Play. The upcoming smartphone under the U Series so-far known as the HTC U is expected to be launched sometime during this month itself.
Today, thanks to the popular leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks), we now have an allegedly leaked image of the upcoming HTC U.
The HTC U is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset and will also feature a 5.5-inch Quad-HD resolution display. The primary camera will be having 12MP resolution whereas the selfie shooter will be of 16MP. The HTC U will come in two storage variants: 64GB and 128GB. The device will be powered by the latest Android version 7.1 Nougat operating system and the HTC Sense 9 custom UI will run on top of it.
According to previous rumors, what will set the HTC U apart from its competing devices would be gesture controls. The HTC U is said to make use of the Edge Sense Technology which will let control their device using user-defined gestures that are performed on the metal frame of the device itself.
We expect HTC to officially unveil the HTC U by the end of this month and it should go on sale by mid-May 2017.
