Everyone must be aware of Google’s personal assistant (Google Assistant) which came exclusively for the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. However, a new alpha release of the Google App (v6.13) for registered beta users hints that it may differ in upcoming days. According to Android Police, the app triggers the Assistant on holding home button (rather Now on Tap) noticeably on one Galaxy Note 5 (running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow) and a Nexus 6P (latest 7.1.1 Nougat).
However, when again tried with another Nexus 6P device, it denies functioning the way as mentioned earlier. Thus, it’s only up to consideration on what set of conditions are required to meet for this feature. Besides these, the new version of Google App allows you to add payment information to Assistant, later asking it to pay for your stuff for you.
Furthermore, the Google App v6.13 brings a new Lite mode as well as a recent searches page. You can download the APK from the source link below. However, make sure that you read out the warnings before rushing to install the app.
