Back in October, Facebook launched Messenger Lite app for Android in developing countries like India, Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela. Whereas now, the social giant has announced that it would roll out the app to 132 more countries – Germany, Colombia, Italy, Vietnam, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan and the Netherlands.
Unfortunately, it won’t be available in some countries like Indonesia, Sudan, Iran, Ireland, India, Bangladesh, China, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, UK, US and North Korea. However, it isn’t understandable why did the Facebook exclude the app in emerging countries like India, Brazil and so on.
The Facebook Messenger Lite app is identical to Facebook Lite app, and it weighs less than 10MB. The Messenger Lite app has most of the features that are available in the standard Facebook Messenger app. The app functions smoothly on the old Android devices even in the weak connectivity areas as well. The Messenger Lite doesn’t have camera effects, third party dev platform and other some of the features which are present in the main app.
You can download the Facebook Messenger Lite from Google Play.
