Asus has launched Zenfone 2 Deluxe ZE551ML at Asus Zen Festival in Delhi. Mostly the Zenfone 2 Deluxe is almost same as Asus Zenfone 2 they had previously launched. The only changes they have done is the 3000mAh battery and diamond cut back panel. Asus has done a great job to make an impact on Indian smartphone market within a short time. Previous flagship Asus Zenfone 2 was a great hit in Indian market and they were having perfect marketing plan for that. They had launched that device for all kind of users from 16GB to 128GB. Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe comes with three models according to internal storage 64GB, 128GB and a special edition of 256GB. Take a quick look at the specifications.

Hardware & Build Quality
Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is being loved for it’s diamond shaped back panel and it’s pretty amazing. The curvy finish at the back gives it a premium look at the first sight. Infront of the smartphone it has a 5.5 inch full hd display. On the top of it we can found the power button which is accroding to me is wrongly placed and that too in a 5.5 inch display phone. But they have a double tap feature which solve this problem. Beside the power button the 3.5mm Headphone port is placed. On the back panel we can found a 13MP camera with Flashlight and just below that the volume rocker button is placed. You will feel weird about the volume rocker buttons which is placed behind instead of the edge but with time you will get used to it. So when it comes to build quality and hardware it is solidly built and feel a premium phone in the hand.
Display
The Asus Zenfone has 5.5-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS capacitive display with Corning gorilla glass 3 protection. The display is very good. Viewing angles are average and too reflective. The touch is very responsive and when it comes to brightness and saturation they are also perfect. So in display part Asus have a done a great job to satisfy its users.
Performance and Gaming
Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe ZE551ML is powered by 2.5GHz 64-Bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor along with PowerVR G6430 GPU and 4GB RAM. Asus has launched world’s first 4GB smartphone with Asus Zenfone 2 and that device was a beast in performance. No surprise this one have the same performance. The 64bit Intel Atom provides more flexibility and boost up the performance. The multitasking is very smooth in this device and we haven’t found any lag while switching between apps and even heavy games.
We have tested some heavy games like Asphalt 8 Airbone, Real Racing 3, Subway Surfers, Modern Combat 5 in Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe and the gaming performance was amazing. The 4GB RAM helps to run games very smoothly. We haven’t found any lag or frame drop while gaming. So in the gaming and performance part Zenfone 2 Deluxe is a beast.
Camera
Zenfone 2 Deluxe has 13MP rear camera with autofocus, Dual LED flash which can record videos upto 1080p at 30fps. The camera is very good and capture realisitc pictures. The colour and saturation of the pictures are perfect and the pixel master software has done great job. The camera app of Zenfone 2 Deluxe is one of the best. All the features you need are there. HDR mode is working fine. In low light it does perform well. The front facing camera is a 5 MP shooter which is able to take really good selfies. The auto beauty enhance does a good job to make selfies look great. So in camera Zenfone 2 Deluxe is very good and it will surely satisfy it’s users.
Battery and Sound
The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is having a non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery which performs well if you are a medium user. Still you have to charge it at the end of the day. Hadrcore gamers and heavy users with 3G/4G network will find difficulty in battery life sometimes. Though for other users its quite average.
The speaker is placed behind the back panel. The sound system is very good and loud in Zenfone 2 Deluxe. While calling we haven’t found any noisy sounds and the voice clarity was good. The Music app inside the Asus Zenfone 2 is quite good.
Final Verdict
The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is a redesigned model of Asus Zenfone 2 but obviously it performs better than it’s predecessors. There will be no problem with internal storage, the camera is good, display is good, in performance it’s a beast and what we can expect more! This is surely a good to go phone if you are looking for a mid range phone. If you are looking for a high storage then you can also get 256GB special edition Zenfone 2 Deluxe.
