This year, Motorola Smartphones came with Moto Z branding instead of Moto X moniker from the past years but however, that does not mean that the X-series is dead. Back in June, Motorola itself confirmed that X series is still alive.
Images of a new device, Moto X (2017), got leaked which is expected to be the successor of last year’s Moto X Style models. The device is expected to be an upper-midrange handset. However, no specs have been leaked yet.
We can only conclude from the leaked image that there will a golden color variant and the device will be protected by a metal unibody. Other guessed specs include that of a fingerprint scanner in the front and a rear camera with dual-LED flash support.
This phone does not have any pins at the lower side of the back to attach MotoMods but the main camera and flash are found in the round area that protrudes from the rest of the body that reminds us of Moto Z design.
In the meanwhile, Lenovo confirmed that high-end Moto handsets of next year will support modular accessory system.
