We came across rumors confirming the launch of three different Apple iPhone models this year. All the three Apple iPhone models to be launched this year will have a glass back, inspired from the good old Apple iPhone 4/4S along with the long-awaited support for wireless charging as well.
One of the three Apple iPhone models to be launched this year is allegedly called the “Apple iPhone 8”. A new rumor now claims that the so-called Apple iPhone 8 will feature an Iris Scanner along with the very popular TouchID fingerprint scanner, for added layer of security.
The supply chains that provides Apple with components for the iPhones will begin the delivery of the Iris Scanner for the Apple iPhone 8 by the end of the first quarter. However, we still won’t be seeing an Apple iPhone 8 launch until September, at least.
This is not the first time we are seeing Iris Scanner being featured on a Smartphone. Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Android Smartphone had an Iris Scanner. Even though the Iris Scanner on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was praised a lot, the ill-fated battery issues of the device forced Samsung to cease production and sales of the Galaxy Note 7. However, we do expect Samsung to bring back the Iris Scanner with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus flagship devices, slated to launch by the end of March.
